Detection and Quantification Analysis of Some Selected Pesticides in Food
Pesticides are substances or mixtures of substances used to prevent, control or reduce harmful organisms. It can be a pesticide, a chemical substance, a biological agent such as a virus or bacteria, an antimicrobial, a disinfectant, or any tool. Harmful organisms can be insects, plant pathogens, weeds, molluscs, birds, mammals, fish, worms and microbes that harm people's food sources, property and spread disease.
Although there are some benefits to using pesticides, they can also pose some problems due to their potential toxicity to humans and other animals.
After this definition, the first thing that comes to my mind is the drug-dose relationship. Pesticides also have this feature, just as they can be poison instead of treatment when used in excess of a dose of a drug. When the pesticide used is in excess, it can harm the environment, but also cause various diseases on humans. For this reason, pesticide analysis in agricultural products is one of the important test parameters.
In our laboratories, "Detection and Quantification Analysis of Selected Pesticides" is carried out in accordance with the legal regulations and standards related to TÜRKAK accreditation.
